Leonard Krogue longtime Logan resident and master mechanic at Logan Garage & Supply died at home after a brief illness believed to be poisoning from infected fish or tainted food. He was 31, survived by wife Elizabeth Thornock and five children. Funeral services were held in Logan and Bloomington with interment in Bloomington.

The October term opened with Judge J J Guheen. John Jnussi Ernest Hubschmid and John Black were admitted US citizens. Louise Stucki was granted a divorce from John Stucki. Five men arrested Sept 7 for illegal liquor transport from Cokeville to Paris pled guilty. David Humpherys and Edgar Passey fined 100 each with 40 suspended for good behavior. Milford Hess Allen Livvall and Walter Rogers fined 50 each with verdict suspended for good behavior. Court to sit remainder of the week.

Regiment heads to France from Boise to Charlotte

The next contingent of Bear Lake recruits will leave Montpelier on Wednesday October 3 for speed training camp at American Lake Washington. Bloomington Chapel Dedication Highlighted by Bishop Hart
The Bloomington Chapel was dedicated Sunday evening with exercises led by Bishop Alfred A. Hart and dedicatory prayer by Elder Hyram A. Smith. The chapel cost 17493 50 dollars, fully paid, funded by church contributions and local wards totaling 14 12 50 plus a Bloomington ward contribution near seven thousand dollars. The pews are quarter sawn oak costing 1150 dollars.

Pioneer Day Reminiscence at Bear Lake Valley Settlement
An old settler recalls September 26 pioneer day at Bear Lake Valley near Twin Creek. Twelve men and boys, four women and children camped by the creek as Rich and escorts chose the site for winter. President Rich led a Sunday council on duties for winter and urged those wanting to leave to go. The next morning temperatures froze the mountains while they cut frozen grass for stock and claimed they were monarchs of all they surveyed.
