United Planning Corporation launches Montpelier office

Four men from United form the Montpelier unit as part of a pilot project to introduce a new planning concept for insurance and investment reforms. United Planning Corporation of Montpelier is locally owned and backed by United Investment Corporation of Montpelier. Glade Booth, a Fielding High School graduate with Utah State University training and Austrian mission service, will head the Montpelier office as estate planning consultant after a stockholders meeting on the fourth Thursday of September.

Bid Open for Montpelier Latton Road Overpass

Walt Ward and a Montpelier contingent attended the Boise highway office to hear four bids on the Litton Road overpass project. LeGrande bid the apparent low option, but the Highway Board will review before action. County Commissioners will be notified of the board’s decision. Planning cannot begin before 1969.

Licenses for Vehicle Numbers Open for Reservation

Beginning Monday September 18 the county assessor announces reservations for specific license plate numbers. Applications may be made in person or by mail or telephone through November 80. Fees include regular plate fees 7.50 to 17.50 plus 50 mailing and 50 reservation for a specific number. Reservations will be mailed after December 1 with fees due at reservation.

Church leaders to attend Bear Lake Stake meetings in Paris

Hitler Hunsaker of the Welfare Committee and Ruth Clinger of the Primary Board will represent headquarters in Salt Lake City at Bear Lake Stake gatherings in Paris on Sept 16 and 17. Hunsaker, a retired optometrist and former Los Angeles Stake president, remains active in temple work. Clinger, a BA graduate, belongs to Phil Alpha Theta and Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Idaho Official Discusses Bear Lake Airport Upgrade and Plan

Moulton head of the Idaho Department of Aeronautics met with Bear Lake County Commissioners and about 25 residents at Bear Lake County airport to review conditions. He toured facilities, spoke at a Montpelier luncheon, and outlined a joint 50 50 funding plan for upgrades with timing over five to six years and a new airport committee to guide planning.

Warrant Served in Montpelier for Check Issuing

Dennis Walker, 28, of Montpelier was jailed on a charge of issuing checks without sufficient funds. He appeared before Justice Clem Humpherys, pleaded guilty, and was fined 36 dollars plus 4 dollars costs and sentenced to 15 days in jail with jail time suspended on payment. Walker was released Wednesday afternoon.
