W P Hogarty district manager of The Great Western Sugar Co outlined that Billings factory since 1906 produced 5,000,000 bags of sugar and paid farmers upwards of $12,000,000 for beet crops. Factory labor costs about $5,000,000 with much recirculated locally. Local materials for plant work reached roughly $2.0 million. By products helped stockmen by feeding 800,000 sheep or 100,000 cattle, aiding farmers during hay and grain shortages.
