Ice Postpones Rail Rate Increase on Grain Shipments
The Interstate Commerce Commission postponed a planned rail rate hike on grain moving from Northern Idaho to Pacific Coast terminals. Idaho Wheat Commission chair Dick Smith of Rexburg says the delay allows time for petitions from the commission, railroads, and others to reconsider the case, with an estimated annual economic impact of about 700000 dollars if enacted.

Army Pvt Roy C Passey of Paris participates in Operation Big Lift the largest trans oceanic air deployment. The 2nd Armored Division of over 16 000 soldiers moved from Fort Hood to bases in Germany to link with NATO forces in a major airlift and training mission. Passey serves as a mechanic in Headquarters Troop 2nd Squadron 1st Cavalry 2nd Armored. He entered service in 1963 and is a Fielding High School graduate.
