St John Lorry of Fort Morgan Colorado claims a world record for sugar beets with a 26 percent beet presented to Dodd Beet Co near Fort Morgan. The specimen is two and a half pounds heavier than any previously grown in local records.

Idaho Falls October 17 President H C Austin of the Bingham Jam stake announced the new LDS hospital will formally open next Monday October 22 with services at 10 o clock in the L D S auditorium followed by dedication ceremonies at the hospital. The institution will be open to visitors for the day.
Ogden Utah Oct 15 Claude B Hullest 18 of Ogden was accidentally killed late yesterday when a shotgun dropped on the pavement and discharged the charge struck his chest. He had been duck hunting on Riverdale road with Young Hulliet and others. His death follows a prior duck season fatality at Stockton lake last morning of former Mayor WH A Bock of Salt Lake.
Gus Stoor purchases Herbert Horsley’s stock at Horsley’s Cash Grocery in Soda Springs and rents the store and dwelling to continue the business. The Horsleys will winter in Preston with their daughter.
Hyrum Olson of Ovid and Alice Crane of Bennington wed in the Salt Lake Temple after leaving Monday for Salt Lake City. The couple are well known and their nuptials are noted in a brief society item.

Funeral plans for Edward A. Bock, former mayor of Salt Lake City, were incomplete after he was accidentally shot and killed while duck hunting on Stockton Lake yesterday morning. The lake lies about 46 miles south and west of Salt Lake City. Bock and his companion BE. L. Park moved from a blind toward shore when the accident happened aboard a small boat.
