City Council met Monday evening and discussed street problems led by Center Street. They approved using cinders instead of gravel or shale and authorized a carload order from the O. L. M. Co. Warrants were ordered by the city clerk. Chairman A W Shepherd reported five months of committee work.
The Post acknowledges a large box of strawberries and white onions from the famous Wm Clark farm at St Charles. The berries were picked Sunday morning and were larger and tastier than any grown during the summer by Mr Clark. The farm also grows notable potatoes and supplies the local market.
Reports from the land registry office show vast public land in Idaho available for entry. Despite millions of acres, grazing and irrigation land, few entries are made due to farmers and stockmen losing confidence in business prospects amid market and tax concerns.
A modern poultry facility with a thousand hen capacity is under construction on the Idaho Technical Institute farm in Pocatello. The First and Second wards of the Y M C A in this city began their year with programs and dances on Tuesday evening. The First ward drew a good percentage of members to the ward chapel for dancing and games, while the Second ward held similar activities for its participants.
