Novelty Theatre needs community support and new rolling stock
The Novelty Theatre seeks about 30 more family tickets to cover the current four show weekly schedule. Annual theater costs total around 5 289 dollars and 21 cents. 100 family tickets at 15 dollars each for six months would raise 3 000 dollars annually. The plan also relies on regular admissions and popcorn. The manager Jim Hawkes provides detailed expenditures, and says average 10 dollars per showing could break even. The piece urges community backing as a worthwhile project for youths and safety. Separately, Union Pacific Railroad orders 100 postal storage cars and 15 coaches from St. Louis Car Division for delivery over 17 months with six months to start.
