It stresses giving up individual privileges, paying dues, and trusting local leaders to build community standards, training, and shared responsibility for successful cooperative marketing.
The final contest between Seniors and Juniors determined the inter class basketball champion with the Juniors prevailing. The Seniors later challenged the school in athletics but were defeated again by a larger margin. The Home Economics Club has been organized to discuss home economic problems and do Red Cross work with weekly meetings.
The Stake Boards of the M I A announce a family friendly Thanksgiving program at 2nd Ward Hall and Pavilion. Part 1 at 7 30 features Holland scenes with music and native costume. Part 2 depicts the First Thanksgiving with Hiawatha and Pilgrim figures. Part 3 at 9 offers an old fashioned jig followed by a Pilgrim evening. Admission varies by part with adults paying ten cents for Parts 1 and 2, and children at a reduced rate. a dance is included.
A Bear Lake party traveling from Paris to Logar to watch A C Boulder football crashed after hitting an open culvert on the return. In the accident B Thomas and Russell Greenhalgh of Bloomington and J L Athay of Paris were injured through the windshield. the car was wrecked and taken to a Logan garage for repairs. Athay had visited a sick wife in Clarkston prior to the mishap.
Dr Edward T Haverman will be the second speaker at the Fielding Academy lyceum course appearing at the Second Ward Hall on Tuesday November 27 1917. He is described as a capable speaker in the event notes.

Paris Idaho store F T Shepherd & Sons announces switch to cash only sales starting December 1 1917 citing high costs of credit. They promise lower prices with cash discounts and reduced bookkeeping and delivery expenses. The notice lists example prices on sugar tea coffee and canned goods and invites customers to inspect more bargains in store.
A letter to Mrs. George Riley from Alfred Batemen at Camp Kearny California describes the vast camp, daily drill schedules, and improvements. He notes transport by Santa Fe, a 30,000-strong post, and upcoming exercises including aerial bombs and field medical training. He mentions acquaintances Irwin Jensen and Ajrollo Hansen, and a Morality talk by Billy Sunday.
