American Falls Dam to Start and Town Move
Rupert Oct 29 Work on the American Falls dam will begin around January with housing removals for the reservoir starting January 1 and completed by April 1. Over the next year more than 800000 dollars will be spent on construction aside from the dam. About 450 buildings must be moved and most are residences as the new town rises with street grading water and sewer work underway. Railroads and utilities cooperate to share replacement costs reducing farmer charges in the Snake River valley.
