Relatives from Bear Lake Valley and surrounding states gathered at the Montpelier stake tabernacle to honor Dr George F Ashley 62 who died after a heart attack. He founded Montpelier Hospital in 1913 and served as Montpelier mayor from 1923 to 1925, with a long civic record. He married Mary Kearl in 1903 and is survived by his widow, two children Gordon and Blair, a granddaughter Marilyn, and siblings. Interment was in Montpelier cemetery.

Ed Hart of the University of Utah scored a decisive mile win at BYU stadium in Provo on May 14, finishing well ahead in 4:28. Sheep Offer In Cokeville For 1000 Head Of Imported Flocks
