Fish and Wildlife Bureau Renames Bear Lake Refuge in Idaho
A telegram from the Senator's office says the Fish and Wildlife Service renamed a southeastern Idaho refuge to Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge after a meeting in Montpelier on April 25. Sen. Frank Church arranged the meeting and pressured the agency to change the Bannock National Wildlife Refuge name amid local complaints.

Miss Linda Jacobson daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy F Jacobson of Montpelier attended the 12th National Angel Flight Conclave in Miami representing her university unit. Dignitaries included Norman S Paul and Gen John P McConnell, with Maj Bernard Fisher cited among attendees. Fielding Musicians Shine at Regional Festival
Fielding High music department sent groups to Burley for the Regional Music Festival. Students earned top ratings with Craig Olsen and Brent Arnell receiving superior in solo events, and multiple ensembles achieving excellent ratings. The Fielding chorus, band, and woodwind quartet also earned high marks as regional schools from southern Idaho competed.

The event features gifts cooked foods a rummage sale floral sprays and more with a menu of barbecue hot dogs ice cream pie and cake directed by Leone Gartsch.

Roghaar Accepts Bancroft Superintendent Post
Ralph Roghaar a Fielding High School principal for nine years will become Bancroft superintendent. He has served Bear Lake schools for 21 years and previously led Emerson Clementary School in Paris for 12 years before joining Fielding.

Jaycees Honor Local Men at Dinner in Montpelier
The Bear Lake Jaycees honored La Voy Lewis and Glacus G Merrill at Bosses Night at Vir-day Cafe Montpelier. Merrill received the Distinguished Service Award for advancing progress in Bear Lake valley, including the March of Dimes events on KVSI radio and Tele Rama in Salt Lake City. Lewis received a life membership and was noted for holding every local Jaycees office and for extensive activity at local state and national levels.
