Equipment loan program aids Idaho crippled children and adults

The Idaho Society for Crippled Children and Adults operates an equipment loan service supplying wheelchairs crutches hydraulic lifts walkers and other devices to aid rehabilitation. A doctor’s prescription is required to ensure aid goes to those most in need and equipment is returned promptly for reuse. Jim Mattson Named To AA All Star Team

Post Falls and Middleton each place two players on the 10 man class AA all star team chosen Saturday night. Miller and Schlottbauer of Post Falls and Robinson and Beck of Middleton earned spots along with Mattson and others from North Gem Challis Ririe Glenns Ferry and Grangeville.

The Futurity News reports strong interest in the Bonneville Quarter Horse Futurity set for June 27 to 29 in Monpelier. Bear Lake Racing Association and Montpelier Chamber of Commerce back a $600 purse and a three day program plus a Bear Lake Derby on June 28 with a $200 purse. Nomination deadline is March 30 and elimination trails open June 27. James Olsen of Bear Lake praises civic support and local timing and track upgrades.

Red Cross Blood Drawing for Rich County

Red Cross blood drawing for Rich County is scheduled for March 2 at Amusement Hall from 2 to 5 p.m. Residents of Rich County are urged to donate to help hospitals with on hand typed and refrigerated blood. Donors are urged to support the program as blood may be needed by anyone at any time.

Couple Wed in Logan Temple February 28

Marie Ward and Marvin L Orr wed in the Logan Temple on February 28 with President Raymond officiating. The couple, parents and relatives attended a luncheon in Logan. The bride, daughter of Walter and Marie Ward of Paris Idaho, wore a silk organza over taffeta gown with long sleeves and a pearl headpiece. The groom’s family is from Moreland Idaho. After a honeymoon to Utah Arizona Nevada and Mexico they will reside in Idaho Falls. An open house was held March 15 at the Moreland LDS chapel.

Airman Basic William M. Rogers son of Mr and Mrs Alfred A Rogers of Paris Idaho is reassigned to Kirtland AFB New Mexico as an operations specialist. He recently completed United States Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB Texas and is a Fielding High School graduate who earned a B S degree from Utah State University.

Idaho Representative Hirschi to Attend Western Medical Forum

Rep Frank W Hirschi of Idaho will participate in the first Western Forum on Medical Education in San Francisco May 10 20 21 1968. Organized by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education the event gathers lawmakers and physicians to address medical education access in the West. Hirschi, former Idaho House Education Committee chair, leads education legislation and will be accompanied by his wife on the trip.

Fielding PTA Meets in Fielding High Auditorium

The Fielding PTA held its monthly meeting in the high school auditorium on Wednesday night March 18. President Carol Howell presided with invocation by Alfred Hart and minutes read by Norma Arnell. A PTA magazine talk, a vocal solo by Lynn Bennett, and a film on Road Hazards presented by State Patrolman Don ald Ikenberry sparked discussion on teen drivers and the car’s impact on grades and morals. A magazine drawing awarded to Mrs Barbara Izatt and La Vell Ward. A nominating committee of Willard Stucki Zed Griffith and Elza Bunderson was named to select the next officers for April installation.

Lake Rangers Schedule Centennial Events and Rodeo Plans

The Bear Lake Rangers outline events for Idaho centennial celebration including a Queen Contest on June 15 and a July 4 rodeo parade and chuckwagon breakfast. Details to come. Wool Payments Set For Sales Before April

Growers should file 1962 wool program and lamb incentive claims by end of April 1963. Payments depend on sales records showing buyer details, sale date, producer identity, net wool weight and proceeds. Shorn wool payments match a set percentage to reach the 62c target. lamb payments reward unshorn lamb sales by weight. Bear Lake County earned $57,351.72 in 1962 incentives.
