Three D's Terry Sisters to Perform at BLHS

The Three D's and the Terry Sisters will perform at Bear Lake High School on March 28. An 80 minute student show is set for Friday afternoon at 50 cents. a two hour public evening concert costs 1.50. Proceeds fund new band uniforms and a weight machine.

Paris Lions Group Wins Zone Talent Contest

A mixed quartet sponsored by the Paris Lions Club won first place in Zone A Talent Contest at Montpelier. The winning team included Jodie Anderson Beth Spencer Terry Tolley Maxine Arnell Rick Woolstenhulme Scott Peterson Craig Wright and Glen Wright. They earned a trophy and 100 dollars and will represent Zone A at the Sun Valley Lions Convention. Two other Bear Lake groups received honorable mention.

Red Cross Drive Nears Goal in Bear Lake County

Bear Lake Red Cross Chapter chairman Eldon Cook says the county fund drive aims for 2700 with a recent 50 donation sent to flood areas. The national body has allocated 2700 for Idaho Falls flood victims, as volunteers brace for possible spring floods amid heavy snow. Mrs Cook notes Bancr aft and Lava Hot Springs are nearby affected areas.

State v William P Radabaugh began in Pocatello with Judge Oliver and Judge Rasmussen presiding. The defendant, held without bond, is charged with the May 29 murders of Mary Villanova and Lena Johns of Montpelier. Prosecution led witnesses. defense focused on character. The case could go to the jury by Friday if pace continues.

Private funeral services were held in Provo Utah for Stanley S Innes 67 who died March 11 in a Provo hospital from a heart ailment He was born December 26 1901 in Paris and was owner and manager of Innes Sporting Goods Survivors include his widow a son Robert a daughter Dixie Mees four grandchildren and a sister Interment was in Provo City Cemetery

Safety Poster Contest Draws 80 Local Students

Bear Lake County Farm Bureau hosted a poster contest chaired by Mrs Harold Waller and Mrs Calvin Price. Over 80 elementary and junior high students entered. Junior winners were Shane Rigby Debie Knowles and Camille Hrickson. Senior winners were Wendy Stewart Volney Fasthorse and Norell Grandy. First place posters advanced to state competition. The aim was to boost safety awareness at home farms roads and recreation areas.

Hulme Payne Burdick and Johnson selected as honor students to speak at Bear Lake High School commencement on May 28 with Kelly Pearce as guest speaker. Joan Hulme holds a 4.0 GPA and has been active in extracurriculars, including four years in Future Homemakers of America.
