Induction calls list Howard Hu Hunzeker Dingle Price and Jerald Windley for Army on March 21, and Clarence Boehme Junior Payne Linford Ringle Gevern Howell for Navy Marine or Coast Guard on March 20. The . & H. Association held its annual meeting Monday with Owen Stock presiding in Elmer Smith's absence. Reports showed last year's levies and expenses, and the group noted clearance on acquiring spring range below the forest. The 1944 levy was set at 50 cents per head. Heber Stock was elected to the Advisory Board, replacing T. C. Pugmire, with no other officer changes. Forest Ranger Jay B. Hann spoke for the Forest Service on postwar construction plans and range-use issues.

The state game department announced Idaho’s general fishing season begins May 21 with early openings in several localities. Specific waters opening earlier include the Whitewater River in Camas and Blaine counties and Magic reservoir with related sections in Blaine Lincoln and other areas. The Foreign Economic Administration states the United States produced 150000 aircraft since March 1941. Of these, 122000 remain for U.S. use and 28000 were shipped to Allies. Bloomington Idaho Postmaster Exam Noted For 1944 Appointment
The Bloomington Idaho postmaster J S Price plans to retire after twenty years in service prompting a fourth class postmaster examination. The U S Civil Service Commission set March 31 1944 to close applications with a temporary 16 percent salary boost up to 25 a month. The exam open to U S citizens 21 to 64 residing in the area, with dates for admission cards and exam announced after the closing date.
