Conservation officers and local groups counted deer across Worm Creek to Charlie Canyon and Dry Canyon Hill areas. The patrol tallied hundreds of deer in 1954 55 and 56 counts with many looking rough or crippled as overuse risks future habitat carrying capacity and wintering needs.

Dogs Declared Public Nuisance After Molesting Deer
Sheriff O B Monson and Conservation Officer Townley report dogs caught molesting deer in the mountains have led to legal action. The law imposes fines from 25 to 300 dollars and up to six months in jail. dogs running at large are a public nuisance and may be killed by officers. Public cooperation urged to keep dogs restrained to protect game and livestock.

Delbert L Hess dies after months of ill health
Delbert L Hess 65 died Friday evening after months of declining health. Born Oct 13 1900 at Bloomington to Jacob and Hannah Hess he was the ninth of eleven children. He lived in the east town area and retired last fall after tending sheep. Surviving are two sons Verl and Woodson Hess a daughter-in-law a granddaughter and siblings Milford Hess Aquilla Hess Clara Bateman Addie Linford. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Paris 1st ward chapel.

Former Paris Lady Dies in Logan Monday
Ellen Adelia Ricks Weaton, 90, died Monday in Logan of causes incident to age. Born October 12, 1856, in Paris Idaho, she was a daughter of Lewis and Ammoretta Allen Ricks. Active in the LDS Church and a graduate trained nurse, she attended Brigham Young College in Logan. She married Eugene Walton in the Logan Temple in 1911. he died in 1922. Surviving are a brother Alex Ricks of Benson Utah and a sister Esther Linford of Logan.
