Salt Lake Tabernacle Choir will perform The Gathering from To Utah with music by Dr. Robert M. Cundick and words by Dr. Edward L. Hart on March 17 during the 9 30 a m KSL TV broadcast. Hart BYU English professor and BYU alumnus, with Cundick former BYU professor and London organist, collaborate on the piece funded by BYU.

Ron Peterson chairing the annual Lions tournament announces games March 14 15 and 16 at Bear Lake Junior High Fielding High gym. Eight tri state teams compete including Evanston USA Bear Lakers Cokeville Randolph Montpelier Laundry Bear Lake HS Seniors Lowe Drug Center and defending champ Bear Lake Valley Market. Last year Bear Lake Valley Market beat Lowe Drug 87 84 in double overtime. Four games Thursday and Friday nights and three games Saturday bracket start at 6 00 p m each night.

March 1 measurements by Soil Conservation Service and Forest Service show water content in snowpack ranging from 2.6 to 8.1 inches higher in February across seven courses. Emigrant Summit and other sites record water totals around 21.9 inches in 66 inches of snow with year comparisons noted.

Edna Pugmire Arnell 73 a lifelong St Charles resident died Sunday at home from natural causes. Born September 26 1894 she was married to Carl Arnell in Paris on November 24 1919. he died April 20 1959. Survived by Rex H and Oral Pugmire of St Charles Darwin of Bellingham WA Wilbur of Salt Lake City Fenton of Brigham City UT Farrell of Montpelier UT and many others. 12 grandchildren and two sisters. Funeral 1 PM Wednesday at St Charles Ward Chapel with interment in St Charles Cemetery.

Parks Dept aims to hold Idaho tourists with developed land
Montpelier Idaho Chamber hears from Jon Soderblom assistant director of the State Parks on six district division and 42 ongoing projects. He outlines long range planning and land acquisition for recreation including campgrounds roads water and sanitation to keep visitors longer and calls for vigorous land development support. Louise Sehdduck of Commerce and Development will speak in May and Governor Don Samuelson is slated as guest in July.

Former Garden City Man Wins Shooting Honors
Lynn Lutz of Ogden son of Mix and Mrs Gien Lutz earned top local honors at the second ATA Registered Trap Shoot at Williamson Sons Gun Club. He cracked 9 birds in Class A Registered Singles and 3 in the Registered Handicap to lead overall. Lutz shattered 445 clay pigeons of a possible 500 in Class 3 Registered Doubles for a 287 total. He is a former resident of Garden City.
