Governor Samuelson outlines tax relief goals as general fund spending rises from 49.5 to 136 million over the years. He cites higher current biennium taxes, a failed tax equalization bill, and calls for restoring promised relief and a 15.1 percent education budget increase.
Idaho readers are told that tax relief is possible this session though relief has not materialized yet. A renewed call seeks 6 to 8 million dollars in relief to ease the burden on overburdened residents, stressing the need to address the state's fiscal pressures.
