Bear Lake Rangers Plan July Fourth Big Doin in Paris
The Bear Lake Rangers stage a July 4 celebration with a Ranger Queen Contest won by Anell Williamson of Montpelier. Attendants are Marsha Stoddard of Georgetown and Wendy Pitchford of Montpelier. The parade, chuckwagon breakfast, and new prize funded floats highlight festivities. Navajo riders from Brigham City join the events.

Idaho to deploy first unmarked state police car
The Idaho State Police will begin July 1 with an unmarked patrol car in District 8 Boise area. Commissioner Warner Mills said at least one unmarked car will serve each of the six districts as available. The move aims to improve highway safety and will be manned by uniformed officers with standard emergency gear.

Blood Drawing Misses Quota at Red Cross Event
At the semi annual Red Cross blood drawing in Montpelier the quota of 1650 pints was not met with 3 pints missed. A total of 95 pints were donated and four donors were rejected. Donor pins were presented to DeWayne Swa Max Lauridsen Lewis Teuscher Mrs Ruby Gortcisky Mrs Ruth Messerly and Joe Spidell. Physicians Paul Davies M D and Glenn Schoper M D assisted. Community chairmen for the west side of the valley included Mrs Jesse Scheldegger and Mrs Lemar Eborn Paris Mrs Hazel Eetereon Ovid Mrs De David Perken Liberty Mrs Ray Bateman Bloomington and Lovell Booth St Charles with Mrs Jesse McClellan as general chairman.
