Paris completes water mains to serve 215 users
The Paris waterworks project is completed with 35,667 feet of mains laid under a $61,100 contract held by Ernest Stettler. PWA engineers approved the work with minor exceptions. The system draws from Paris Creek and two springs near Paris Park, supplying 215 users and improving fire protection with 21 new hydrants.

Novelty Theatre Remodels In Paris To Expand Seating

Senator D Worth Clark reports President Roosevelt approved a WPA project to develop Minetonka Cave in St Charles with staircases stores tables bridges and improved access. Scout Camp in SE Charles Successful Despite Weather
During a week long camp in St Les Canyon sixty scouts and scouters from Baar Lake Stake participated in cooking fire building first aid nature study and navigation activities. A Minetonka cave outing guided by Mr Hann featured lighting gear. Court of Honor and campfire programs concluded the week with officials J W Wright Edwin Shepherd Ezra Roberts and Lou Roberts assisting. Mrs Lula Bird planned to visit relatives in Texas after leaving her home.

Funeral Services Held for Susan J Law
Funeral services for Susan J Law who died June 18 were held Thursday at 1 PM in the Paris Second ward chapel under Bishop O H Grimmett. Elders Bart Harrison offered the invocation. The quartet included Herbert L Spencer Inez Hoge and Edwin T Shepherd. Gimery Welling sang I'm a Pilgrim and Marinda Wyler sang One Sweetly Solemn Thought. Speakers were Cyril Budge Herbert L Spencer Arthur Pendey and Bishop Grimmett. A Relief Society tribute was given. Benediction by James S Poulsen and grave dedication by W Smith Hoge. Pallbearers were her six sons.

Union Pacific railroad Utah Power and Light and Mountain States Telephone Co paid the last half of taxes last week. The railroad paid 35997.65 dollars Utah Power and Light 24628.57 dollars and the telephone company 1479.53 dollars. These payments mark Bear Lake county’s largest single collections to date.

Mrs Albert Jones of Montpelier Dies
Funeral services for Mrs Albert W. Jones of Montpelier were held in the LDS Second ward chapel. She died in a Montpelier hospital last Monday following thyroidectomy complications. She is survived by her husband three daughters two sons two sisters and one brother and two grandchildren.

Rainbow Trout Planted Across Beat Lake County and Caribou Forest
Five hundred rainbow trout from 10 to 16 inches were released in Beat Lake county streams last week. The fish came from the American Falls hatchery for brood purposes. Additionally eighty thousand fingerling trout from Laketown federal hatchery were planted in several Caribou forest creeks.

Temple excursion serves forty four Paris children
Forty four children from the Paris First ward traveled to the Logan temple on Saturday June 24 for a temple excursion. Fourteen Primary teachers joined the group and the trip proved enjoyable. Mrs Emerson D Krogue and her three Salt Lake City visitors are staying at the Ben F Hulme residence in Paris.
