Bear Lake x ray visit boosts county health drive

Between May and June 5 the Mobile X ray unit toured Bear Lake county offering free chest X rays. The effort, part of the Idaho Tuberculosis Association program, praised by chairmen for fine cooperation and thanked sponsors including Utah Power and Light Company and local clubs.

Rangers to Crown Queen at June 18 Horse Show

The Bear Lake Rangers will select a queen Monday evening June 18 to reign over the July 3 and 4 Horse Show and Rodeo at the Fair Grounds. The event starts at 7 pm and the public is invited. All contestants should be on the grounds by 6:30 pm.

Visit tally reflects a Bloomington social week

Residents and relatives visited in Bloomington and nearby towns. Attendees included Earl Sessions and Lou Matthews from Bountiful with granddaughters from Liberty and Paris visitors from Conda and Soda, plus pairs from Mant and Kanab Utah. Bloomington PTA May Meeting Led by Gladys Jacobson

Bloomington PTA met May 28 at 8 o'clock with President Gladys Jacobson presiding. Alfred B Hart gave the prayer, minutes by Cleone Payne, a ladies trio performed, and A J Winters handled remarks. A beautification committee chaired by Alfred Hart and Alaire Hart with Preston and Lois Thomas and Russell and Cleone Payne was formed. Dean Ward offered closing prayer. Refreshments served to 32.

Howell Gradual Adds to USAC Class of 740 at June Commencement

Leon Howell of Fish Haven joined 740 graduates at USAC for the June 2 ceremony in George Nelson Fieldhouse Logan. He earned a BS in Elementary Education with English major and minors in Psychology and Social Studies. His wife Renee Howell also graduated the next day in Old Main with a PHT degree. The Howells plan to move to Portland Oregon for Mr Howell’s new contract with the city schools.

Montpelier Man Dies Suddenly at Railroad Crossing

Steve James 65 of Montpelier was found dead in his chair near the Union Pacific crossing. Heart attack listed as cause. Survived by widow of Lava Hot Springs. Funeral held at Greek Orthodox Church in Pocatello.

Former Resident Buried at St. Charles Thursday

Genevieve Blade George a Idaho native died June 8 in San Luis Obispo after a long illness. Born July 10, 1906 in Saint Charles she lived in Arizona and Los Angeles before moving to California seven years ago. David Buhler Dies Saturday in Montpelier Hospital

David Buhler aged 67 of Bern died Saturday at 4:30 pm in a Montpelier hospital from a heart ailment. Survived by widow and sons Darwin D. Buhler and Loraine M. Buhler of Pocatello, James D. Lydia Marley Weston 82 of Laketown died Friday night at home after an illness. Born November 7, 1873 at Laketown to John and Wancy Marley. Survived by son Lorin Weston and daughters Leah, Mrs. Rulon Holman, Mrs. Lathan McNeill, 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild, three brothers and two sisters. Old Austin Home Destroyed by Fire

The old Austin residence, owned by E. W. Stucki, in the far southwest corner of town, was destroyed by fire around mid afternoon last Friday. The unoccupied house likely caught fire during on site brush burning. It was a close call when the fire siren rang because water service had just been cut off due to a break in the water mains from road construction.

Minnetonka Cave Announces Weekend Openings

Minnetonka Cave will be open Saturday and Sunday June 16 and 17, with additional sessions June 28 and 24. From June 30 it will be open five days weekly, closed Mondays and Tuesdays, under the Paria Lions Club with Wm. Hill of St. Charles serving as guide.

Theodore Hildt passes away at 76 in Garden City

Theodore Hildt 76 died at his Garden City home from a heart ailment on Tuesday morning. Born November 10, 1878 in Stuttgart Germany to Carl and Gottleben Hildt he came to the United States as a child, later settling in Bear Lake Valley. Scouting At Camp Neberker Dates And Costs
