The Bear Lake County Queen Contest will be held at the Paris Fair Grounds Monday evening at 7 o clock. All girls in eighth grade or graduates are invited to participate and post queens and attendants may enter. Cash prizes will be awarded to the Queen and attendants.
Four Bear Lake county boys James Parker Terrell Hymas Brent Boehme and Jimmy Hillier attended the Idaho Conservation camp at Alpine from May 31 to June 7. Sponsored by Central Farm Bureau Montpelier Rotary Club Fielding FFA Chapter and Bear Lake County Soil Conservation District the camp teaches soil water watershed forest wildlife and recreation management. University of Idaho Agricultural Extension Service backs the program to promote Idaho’s natural resources. The four were selected from FFA chapters and Montpelier High School for farming and conservation work and have 4 H backgrounds.

Mr and Mrs John Jaussi of Paris to be honored at a golden wedding dinner at their home next Sunday June 11. They married June 8 1911 at Salt Lake Temple and reside in Paris with 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Family includes Jay and L D Jaussi families from Utah and California.
Alumni Day activities center on classes ending in one and six at the Moscow campus during the 66th commencement. Alumni secretary Jim Tate says graduates from across the nation are expected to attend. events include a noon sitting and annual association meeting, a 6 45 p.m. dinner in the Student Union Building, and a 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. informal reception for the Class of 1961 and guests at the Student Union Building.
Bear Lake county and 17 other southern Idaho counties gain emergency disaster funds from the U S Department of Agriculture. About 745 000 in federal aid could be matched to spend on irrigation, wells, dams, ponds, leveled land and reorganized systems.
