Fielding Academy Holds Third Annual Commencement

The Third Annual commencement at Fielding Academy was held in the Tabernacle with Apostle David O. McKay and school leaders in attendance. Thirteen music department graduates sang, and Edwin Spencer delivered an original farewell. McKay urged graduates to define a life purpose and pursue noble, independent paths, including farming, teaching, and serving others. The Alumni Association hosted a grand banquet for ninety-two guests, followed by an Alumni Ball in the gym.

On April 27 1896 at ten am President Budge with five councilors and town leaders met to plan a church school building in Paris choir sang prayers were offered and a dedicatory blessing given by Elder Hart before the assembly dispersed after an interesting gathering.

Valedictory Exercises Highlight Town Graduation

The fifth annual exercises were held in the Tabernacle with Prof. Walter Siders of Pocatello Academy delivering a lengthy address on truth. Nellie Ridd of Montpelier gave the welcome and Darwin Haddock of Bloomington gave the valedictory. music included a violin solo by David Shepherd and singing by J Russell Shepherd. The Syringat band from Bloomingtontown performed. district schools produced eighteen graduates from Montpelier, totaling sixty seven diplomas for the county.
