Bear Lake Grace Cow Testing Association reports for July with 29 herds and 308 cows including 38 dry cows. Average milk production 708 pounds per cow with 25.5 pounds butterfat. Eight herds averaged 30 pounds plus butterfat. several cows exceeded 40 and ten over 50 pounds. Also notes profits from low feed costs and sustained production. Logan Notes Busy Summer Roundup At Local Schools
Miss Ruby Bolton returned from the U A C summer session to perform in the school opera Once in a Blue Moon and then went home to Paris with Gladys and Evelyn Humphreys who will visit there. Bishop Dan Rich and Woodruff Stucki came back to Paris after attending summer school. Miss Jean Low is convalescing at the Sutton home after goitre surgery. Dan Price and daughter Geniel visited relatives in Logan over the weekend. Miss Gladys Horsley spent six weeks in Logan at school formerly a Paris teacher. Paul Spencer left for Fish Haven to vacation at the family ranch Laurence Sorenson of St Charles Wielding Academy and U A C graduate will teach English at South Cache High in Hyrum next winter replacing Miss Pearl Spencer who will teach in Logan. The Misses Melinda and Sarah Robinson of Laketown are visiting Logan en route from Salt Lake City.

Dairy Herd Shows High Milk Output In Mosquito District
Mosquito activity has crippled production in parts but one dairy herd in the mosquito district averages 1100 pounds of milk and 39 pounds of butterfat per cow milking. The farmer credits frequent pasture changes and alfalfa grazing for better yields as moisture pests bite.

Death Claims Life of Bloomington Lad
Funeral services for Frederick Reed Payne 9 son of Mr and Mrs J A Payne were held July 19 in the Bloomington ward chapel after his death in Soda Springs following an operation. The service honored his patience and kind nature with readings, songs, prayers, and a memorial poem by Mrs Lucille Grimmett. Interment was in Bloomington Cemetery with grave dedication by J P Hulme.

Wolf Attacks Children in New Jersey Backyard
In Redbank New Jersey Thomas Holton age two and a half died at a hospital from bites and slashes by a tame looking she wolf that escaped its cage. Henry Mazza his playmate was only slightly hurt. The father Oliver Holton shot the wolf after it dragged Thomas back into the yard and renewed the attack. The animal born in captivity had been considered tame and escaped during cage repairs.

U.S. Government lumberman U Swarts and Ranger W S Averill surveyed North Canyon and Pearl Creek timber to plan sales. The Lodgepole Pine on Pearl Creek is heavily infested by mountain bark beetle, requiring rapid harvest of mature and diseased trees to stop spread and salvage timber killed by the beetles.
