Committees for the Bear Lake County Fair are preparing a large show this fall. The fair runs September 24 25 26 with livestock and exhibits moving to Blackfoot for the Eastern Idaho fair September 29 30 and October 1 2. The premium book is at press and will be mailed to farmers soon. Farmers statewide are gathering produce to enter. Livestock are being conditioned for display.

Salt Lake Food Prices Edge Down In June report
A Utah labor department release shows retail food prices in Salt Lake City fell just over two percent for the month ending June 15. Significant declines included potatoes down fourteen percent and plate beef six percent. duck roast lard and rich roast oleomargarine and cheese fell about three percent. Onions and strictly fresh eggs rose four percent while raisins climbed one percent. Prices in Butte and Portland Oregon rose under a half percent.

Half Year License Plates Go On Sale August First
Half year license plates will be sold starting August 1 at the county office at the courthouse. Buyers of new cars and used car purchasers must obtain half year plates and pay personal tax on the vehicle. Tax totals show 1325 plates sold from January 1 to July 1, 1981, bringing in $20,326.33, versus $21,697.34 in 1930. no trailer plates were sold in 1930.
