Bear Lake boy loses legs in resort boat collision
Gary Archibald 13 of Magna Utah remained alive after a speedboat rowboat crash at Sish Haven Bear Lake. Les Nelson the resort operator swerved to avoid a Larsen outboard causing the rowboat to be struck by the propeller. Gary’s life was saved by Dr Gordon Harthon and his wife with transfusions starting Sunday.

29 American Legion Juniors in 1949 All Star Game
Twenty nine American Legion Junior baseball graduates were among the players selected for the 1949 Major League All Star Game at Ebbets Field Brooklyn on July 12. The American League squad led by Lou Boudreau included many who started in Legion Junior baseball.
