Catherine Reed Dies in Salt Lake City

Word was received late Tuesday of the death of Catherine Y. Reed at her Salt Lake City home. She was about eight months pregnant. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Reed was well known in this area and a frequent visitor in the Dallan Athay and Parallee Kendall homes.

4-H Youths Head to Alpine Camp in Wyoming

A Bear Lake County group of 102 4-H youngsters travels Monday to Alpine Wyoming for a four day 4-H Camp at Alpine they will join Caribou County youths for activities. County Extension Agent Hyrum Johnson and Marlene Stegelmeier accompany with Tamara Pugmire and Chad Pugmire coordinating transport. Camp funds come from charges donations gifts and commissary sales and the site serves 4-H clubs square dance groups church groups and families. 2 500 people used the camp in 1950.

Navy enlistments rise in June in southeastern Idaho

The Pocatello Navy Recruiting Station reports twelve men and one or more women joined the Navy in June from southeastern Idaho. Enlistees include Larry Beck from Montpelier, Stanley Robinson from Grace, Richard Whitworth from Bancroft, Virginia Luker and William McCarthy of Pocatello, Donald Moffit, Stanley Slader, Bernice David Adama, Donald I. Adan, James Dillon, and Michael Hansen from nearby towns and addresses.

F H A Livestock Loan Bill Passes Senate

The Senate Agriculture Committee approved a bill by Senators Church Idaho and Moas Utah to extend Far mers Home Administration authority to make large livestock loans. The extension would allow loans above 20000 until July 1963 and uses the existing emergency loan revolving fund with no new appropriation. The current program expires July 14.
