President's Ball Set in Paris to Aid Infantile Paralysis
The President's Birthday Ball will occur in Paris on Saturday January 29 raising funds for the Fight Infantile Paralysis campaign. Tickets also cover shows at the Novelty and Rich Theatres and a Montpelier band concert Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Jane Pearson Humpherys 74 died in a Salt Lake City hospital last week from heart failure. Born February 22 1867 in Yorkshire England she immigrated to Utah in 1887 and joined the LDS church. Surviving are son Mel daughter Ila H Samuelson sister Martha T Brown and six grandchildren Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City and she was laid to rest in Paris cemetery on Friday.

Staff Sergeant Thiel Wamsley of Garden City, missing in action over Europe, received the Air Medal in a ceremony at the Army Air Forces college training detachment on campus. Funeral Services for Ann G Keetch Nelson
Funeral services were held at the Montpelier Stake tabernacle for Ann Greenwood Keetch Nelson of Montpelier. Officiating were Bishop Parley C. Buehler with a program featuring a quartet, solos, and speakers. Interment followed in Wardboro cemetery. Nelson, born June 9, 1875 in St. Charles, lived in St Charles, South Montpelier, and Utah, worked in endowment and church roles, and died January 20 after months of illness. Surviving children include Mrs. LeRoy Oakes, Mrs. LaVern Boyer, R K Nelson, Z George Nelson, and Aaron G Nelson, with thirteen grandchildren and siblings Heber, William A C, Elijah Keetch.
