Inquest Held Into Death of William Martin
An inquest into the death of William Martin, 60, Oregon Short Line watchman, run down while walking along the highway last Thursday night, was conducted Friday afternoon. The driver, Gordon Ashley, 17, was not held, authorities deeming the accident unavoidable. Martin is survived by two daughters. he died almost instantly with severe injuries.

Mine Increases Force to Step Up Operations
A large number of workers were added to the payroll of the Agricultural Potassium Phosphate Co at their Sleight's Canyon mine. Operations are sped to supply phosphate ore for the plant at San Pedro, California. The mine runs day and night shifts with excellent progress and machinery overhauls. Logan Utah January 91 supervisor Carl B Arentson of the Cache national forest says 155000 will be spent on the Logan canyon road this year with 37500 from the county or state. Forest Service funds allocate 75000 for the section from the high hatchery to the forks and 80000 for a third section above the forks. Cache county commissioners approved 37500 for the first section and plan equal aid for the second. A Logan chamber committee met with the state road commission to discuss financing.
