Fielding Musicians Selected for Fifth District Music Clinic
Seven Fielding High school students were chosen to join the Fifth District Music Clinic in Pocatello. J R Pugmire of Montpelier Idaho assumes leadership of Bear Lake County agricultural program activities on January 1 as chairman of the Agricultural Conservation committee. He is joined by J Vivian Nye Paris and Warren Higley Soda Springs as officers with alternates Sivel Nielson and Jesse Orchard. A party honored the retiring Bishop Oliver L. Peterson and counselors Peter Nielson and Charles Parker of the Ovid Ward on January 10. The program included singing, prayers by Marion Beck, a piano duet, poems, and readings. Gifts included six volumes of a church history and three books for the counselors, with corsages for their wives, a solo, lunch for nearly 200, and dancing.

Elizabeth Hess, Former Bear Lake Lady, Dies in Logan
Elizabeth Eleanor Bee Hess 5 died at her Logan home after a long illness. Born Sept 1 1881 in Bloomington she married Thomas Gilbert Hess Sept 11 1901 in the Logan LDS temple. Survived by husband three sons five grandchildren one great grandchild two sisters three brothers and other relatives. Funeral services held Tuesday at Hall Mortuary Logan with burial in Logan City Cemetery.
