Geneva Soldier Receives Highest Army Citation

Pfc. M. F. Teuscher of Geneva earned the Distinguished Unit Badge as the 47th Bombardment Group received a War Department Citation for its January 22 1943 operations at Kasserine Pass. The group and its air and ground crews fought through rain fog and anti aircraft fire to drive the enemy back, turning the battle and aiding Allied advance in North Africa. Teuscher arrived overseas January 1943 and joined the group in 1942.

Junior Bridge Club Honors At Hotel Paris Dinner

The Junior Bridge club entertained their husbands last Monday night at the Hotel Paris with dinner and pinochle. High score went to Mr and Mrs Max Haddock while low went to Mr and Mira Ivan Beck. Paris Lions invite service men on furlough to dinners

Paris Lions club will invite service men and women on furloughs to be honored guests at club dinners. A committee will handle the program with ward cooperation to identify those home on leave for the regular meeting dates. Lions meet the first Friday evening of each month unless a major event conflicts.

Ovid Man Joins Bomber Group in Italy

Corporal Darrell H. Matthews 21 of Ovid Idaho has arrived in Italy and joined a veteran 15th Air Force B-24 Liberator Bomber Group as radio operator. He trained at Sioux Falls Yuma and earned his Gunner’s Wings. authorized to wear African European Middle East theatre ribbon.

Emerson School News Walentine Boxes and Valentines Dance

Emerson School adopts Walentine boxes as most grades raise funds for Valentine festivities. A school program and dance follow the event with refreshments. The eighth grade leads with $495.65 of $1,493 total bonds and stamps. The fifth grade hosts a Friday night Valentine party at 7 30 with a king and queen named Clyde Taylor and Veon Valentine.

Idaho Farmer lists enumerator questions for the 1945 agricultural census covering farm size, ownership, leases, crops, pasture, waste land, labor, utilities, roads, machinery, livestock, dairy, poultry, fruit and vegetable production, forestry, and values. It expects counts by crop, yield, produce used or sold, and household labor, plus equipment and mortgage data.

Car Waste Paper To Be Shipped February Seventeenth

Information from J B Hann County Salvage chairman states a car load of waste paper will be available for loading from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on February 17 at the Montpelier freight house area. Properly bundled paper credited to the group responsible for collection. other agencies’ transfers require arrangements. Paper may be weighed in Montpelier or beforehand with weight certification. Charley W. Kelsey Dies in Butte Montana

Word reached of Charley W. Kelsey’s death at his home in Butte Montana. He was 53 and a World War I veteran of the 91st Division. He leaves wife Lena and brother Easton J. Kelsey of Montpelier. Funeral services were held in the LDS ward chapel in Butte.

Lanark Glee Club Program Delights Ward Reunion

The Girls Glee Club of Fielding High School directed by Thayer C Barrus performed at the Lanark Ward Reunion on Friday afternoon February 2. The program featured ladies choruses duets trios and a mixed duet with pieces such as My Own American So How a Rose D er Blooming Whisper Goodye Dear Moon On My Pillow and Say a Prayer for the Boys Over There.
