Supervisor schedules monthly county presence for winter
L. D. Crawford, supervisor for the Emergency Crop and Feed Loan, will be in Montpelier on the second Thursday and in Randolph Utah on the second Friday each month during winter. Debtors who have not contacted the supervisor for loan liquidations will have their cases sent to the Salt Lake office for legal action after January 9, 1948. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their annual Christmas party at Mrs Nina Deborn's home with a program and Santa Claus gifts.

Funeral Services Held Thursday For Chas. Hendee
Funeral services for Charles Hendee, 63, who died Monday of last week at his Logan home, were held Thursday noon in the Logan 9th ward chapel. Burial was in Logan City Cemetery. He was born April 17, 1884, in Randolph Utah, married Hazel Corless in 1910 at Paris Idaho, and lived in Rich County before moving to Logan two years ago. Survived by widow, two daughters Mrs. William Hess Lewiston and Mrs. Kay Barton Logan, four grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Laura Luck Towelo and Mrs. Floyd Rudolph Carr Idaho.

More than 200 Idaho World War II veterans have died since discharge. Families may receive Social Security survivors payments if the veteran served at least 90 days and was not dishonorably discharged. Payments apply whether or not a Social Security card exists, but VA pension ineligibility blocks the benefit. Families should contact Social Security after a veteran’s death to secure any due payments.

Local residents figure in string of auto mishaps
Last week local residents were involved in multiple accidents. Ernest D. Hymas his wife and son James wrecked a 1940 Chevrolet near Lava Hot Springs injuring Mrs Hymas with a dislocated jaw and James with a fractured nose while Mr Hymas suffered cuts. Palmer Tueller’s 1947 Studebaker was badly damaged after being struck beside Montpelier near railroad tracks. Harold Reese and companions lost control near Paria hitting a guard post and a telephone pole. his 1937 Chevrolet was a total wreck with minor injuries to others.
