Fifty Hundred Pheasants Released in Bear Lake County
The State Game department released 500 pheasants across Bear Lake county in the past week. Half were released on each side of the county with some tagged to track their movement. Results will be decided after the two day pheasant season on October 23 and 30.

Flight Officer Lloyd P. Bowman, 20, son of Ernest Bowman of St. Charles, earned silver wings and AAF commissions at Hondo Army Air Field Texas as part of a record class of skilled combat navigators. Graveside Services Held for Former Parisian William W. Price
William W. Price 84 retired Paris Idaho businessman died Friday at his daughter’s Ogden home after a brief illness. Born July 8 1860 in Wallingford Connecticut he lived much of his life in Paris active in the LDS church and civic affairs. He managed Robert Price Lumber Co operated a sawmill for 30 years and served as city councilman marshal and high priest. Survived by children Joyce Miller June Ballantyne Hoscoe Fries Louise Cooley seven grandchildren one great grandchild and many Price relatives. Graveside rites were held at Paris cemetery with Bishop Clarence M. Rich presiding and selections by local musicians.

Former St. Charles Resident Dies in Salt Lake
Louis Hyrum Booth 59 of Salt Lake City draftsman for Morrison Merrill Co died at home Friday at 2 am from a heart attack. Born June 16 1885 in St. Charles Idaho he married Phoebe Price in 1906 and lived 18 years with Morrison Merrill. Survived by widow three sons Louis Provo Robert Salt Lake Avard in the U S Army Datelan Arizona and three daughters in Salt Lake plus six grandchildren. Funeral services included hymns and speakers from local LDS church and BYU ensemble.

M L Aland Killed In Rail Accident Near Pocatello
Monty Aland 26 a brake man was killed early Tuesday when a heavy freight engine struck a caboose on the U P railroad three quarters of a mile north of Pocatello. Three railroad men and a cattleman were injured. He was the son of Levi and Mrs Aland of Montpelier and leaves a wife and daughter plus two brothers and a sister.

Local Ram Sale Yields Top Prices for Hampshire Rams
Attendees at the National Ram Sale in Salt Lake City August 22-23 included Tim Matthews and family, W K Matthews, Jess Matthews, and C N Carlson. In Hampshire division Matthews brothers sold a yearling stud ram at 200 dollars, a stud ram lamb at 100 dollars, and a pen of yearling rams at 775 dollars. Carlson sold a yearling stud ram for 400 dollars and a pen of three yearling rams at 350 dollars. Prices exceeded averages as other breeds sold about half as much as a year ago.

Thelma Bateman and Arden Bunderson were married Friday evening at nine in the Salt Lake temple in a double ring ceremony.
