The Idaho Fish and Game department announced federal approval of migratory waterfowl seasons and bag limits. Idaho will have a split season opening October 14 at noon to November 2, then December 9 to December 28, with ducks five per day ten in possession and geese two per day or possession. Special restrictions apply in Canyon County for geese and a dove hunting window runs September 1 to 10 in many counties. shooting hours and shotgun limits remain unchanged.

Ross Nye Dies in California
Ross Nye, longtime Bear Lake Valley figure, died in San Francisco Tuesday night from complications after malaria jungle fever while serving as a Merchant Marine in World War II. He was born September 18, 1906 in Paris Idaho and survived by his widow Helen Nye, parents Joseph and Annie Nye, and sisters Beth Austin and Mildred Nye. Funeral services were held in San Francisco last Thursday.
