Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm in the Bear Lake Stake tabernacle Paris for Alfred Rosen 61 who died at his home after a week long illness He was born February 20 1863 in Bern Switzerland and married Roséna Hoffman June 6 1886 at the Logan Temple They lived in Paris for 55 years rearing 14 children among survivors are H P L Bolton Soda Springs Robert L Rosen Paris Mrs Wm Somes Michigan Mrs Martha Sorenson Twin Falls Lester M Rosen Twin Falls Ezra H Rosen Los Angeles Frank A Rosen Coulee Dam Smith H Rosen Twin Falls Théodore A Rosen Gooding Victor E H Rosen Pocatello and Mrs Boyd Kenaston Pocatello Arrangements were by Williams Mortuary with Christian Tueller conducting and burial in Paris cemetery

Lorenzo T Johnson 66 died Tuesday July 25 at his Ovid farm home. He was born April 4 1878 in Ovid and lived there all his life as a bachelor and World War I veteran. Funeral services were held Friday in the Ovid ward chapel. Survivors include five sisters and four brothers. F M Williams Mortuary handled arrangements.

Boy 10 Injured In Fall From Log Barn
Rodney Piggott ten of Bloomington suffered serious chest injuries when a log gave way while he climbed a log barn. The 10 inch diameter log fell across his chest, crushing ribs and collapsing a lung. He was rushed to Bear Lake hospital with little hope of recovery, then fought for life and showed signs of improvement.

Bear Lake Camp Opens for Boy Scouts Weeklong Stay
Bear Lake Water Front Camp sponsored by Tenday Council opens July 31 and runs through August 19 with a suggested third week August 14 to 19. Staff includes D L Roberts as camp director and Delbert R Hanks as water front director among others with expanded water activities and two floats. A group of US Army bandsmen from the 2nd Infantry Division in Normandy serenaded Major General Walter M. Robertson on the fourth anniversary of his divisional command. Led by Technical Sergeant John Sullivan, the ensemble played boogie woogie and Irving Berlin tunes amid artillery and air activity. Voices from Paris, Idaho, Lehighton, Penn, Quakertown, Penn, Dallas, Texas, and other locales joined in, sharing a moment of morale as the unit’s front-line music reflected wartime life.

Montpelier prepares for a two day rodeo at the county fair grounds on August 11 and 12 with Marion McBride stock. The program includes bronc riding calf roping bareback riding bulldogging brahma bulls pony and saddle horse races. Chutes corrals and arena have been rebuilt and events start at 2 pm each day. A three day carnival and nightly dances are planned at the fair grounds.

Tueller Joel B. Dies at 51 in Colorado
Joel B Tueller 51 of Bria Colorado a retired farmer died at a Longmont hospital Sunday July 16 after a two day illness. Born August 25 1882 in Paris Idaho he moved to Colorado in 1922 and was a World War I veteran with LDS Denver and Evergreen Carpenter's Union memberships. He is survived by his wife Grace two daughters two brothers four sisters and numerous relatives. A Shaw Memorial chapel service in Longmont featured LDS bishops officiating and a floral tribute shown. interment followed at Mountain View cemetery Longmont.
