David O McKay to Speak at Rich Family Reunion in Paris

Pres David O McKay will speak at the Charles C Rich family reunion near Bear Lake Stake acre in Paris on a Saturday after August 4 at 2 30 PM. Lyman H Rich will introduce him and a special honor will be paid to Dr I Rich of Ogden, last direct descendant of an apostle. Life long friend Pres McKay is expected to attract a capacity crowd and public attendance is invited.

Royalty Selected for Rich County Fair

Tom Muir of Randolph was chosen as queen to reign at the Rich County Fair and Rodeo to be held August 24 and 25 at Randolph. Attendants to the queen are Gue Wicker of Garden City, Sylvia Cheney of Laketown, and July Groll of Randolph. The two day show is sponsored by the American Legion and Auxiliary.

Norma Poulsen 14 Dies in Ogden Hospital

Norma Julia Poulsen 14 of Brigham City Utah died last Thursday morning in an Ogden hospital after surgery. She was the daughter of Clarence and Mary Pearl Nelson Poulsen. Survived by four brothers two sisters and grandmother Mrs Julia Nelson of Bloomington. Funeral services were held Monday in Brigham City.

Seven year old Randy Hoge drowns at Bear Lake

Hearts were saddened by the drowning of Randy Hoge seven son of Mr and Mrs John B Hoge of Paris at Bear Lake on Saturday. His mother and brother Steven were nearby when he stepped into a deep channel east of the Camp Lifton plant and could not be revived after artificial respiration. Surviving are his parents two brothers Steven and Alan and grandmother Mrs Rose Smith. Funeral services were held in the Paris Second Ward Chapel.

Queen to be chosen in Bear Lake Fair contest

The Bear Lake Fair and Rodeo will select the queen and two attendants during a Saturday evening contest at Overland Park in Montpelier. Contestants listed include Mrs Jerry Wright and Mrs Russell Irving of Montpelier, plus others from Paris Cokeville and Bennington. The fair runs Aug 30 to Sept 1 with dates Aug 11 for the queen contest.

Millennial Chorus Plans Paris Program August 12

The Millional Chorus of Salt Lake City will present a program Sunday evening August 12 at 8 30 in the Bear Lake Stake Tabernacle Paris. Tickets are not sold but donations accepted at the door. Proceeds go to the St Charles Ward building fund.

Nye Humpherys wedding in Jackson Wyoming

Dona Nye and Roger Humpherys married Friday evening July 27 at 7 in the Nye home with Sr. Morris B. Athay officiating amid immediate families. Roger is the son of Clem Humpherys and the couple will reside in the Castoria Building apartments. Dana works in Dr Spencer H. Rich's office and Roger joins the county highway crew.

Nate Reunion Date Set for August in Farmington Utah

Thieves Caught After Georgetown Store Post Office Robbery

The Sleight Store and post office at Georgetown were robbed of watches and cash last Saturday night. A four-person group from Oregon was arrested in Rawlins, Wyoming, with stolen watches and a stolen car.
