Park Board Acquires 3000 Acres for Indian Rocks State Park
Idaho's State Park Board accepted title from the Bureau of Land Management for about 3000 acres to form Indian Rocks State Park in southeast Idaho. The land, bought under the Recreation and Public Purposes Act at 2.50 per acre, lies on a plateau between the Portneuf River and Marsh Creek near I 15 between McCammon and Inkom, 12 miles southeast of Pocatello. Plans call for a full travel park after site plans for campground picnic area and offices are completed and bids let. Bear Lake Bruin reporters note four local youths will attend Boys State at Boise College in June.
