Montpelier reports the Caribou and adjacent forests prepare for a major insect control campaign beginning May 1 to 16. crews will treat up to 60,000 infested lodgepole pines with fuel oil, aided by 250 workers from May through June. managers describe the mountain pine beetle, Dandroctonus monticola, as the cause of widespread timber loss as crews repair fences and rails and stock fuel oil at Montpelier Soda Springs and Ririe.

High School Day at U S A C May 1 Amid Scholastic Contests
Utah State Agricultural College will host a High School Day on Friday May 1 with seniors as guests. The program includes the Region 1 track and field meet in the afternoon forty four scholastic contests with scholarships for top winners and group competitions in band orchestra glee clubs and one act plays. A roving cup will go to the school with the highest scholastic score.
