Effie Estelle Nelson Sprouse aged 75 died Saturday April 8 1961 at Utah Valley Hospital Provo from a liver ailment. Born June 10 1885 Fish Haven Idaho she lived in Garden City 64 years with husband Claude W Sprouse. Survived by husband seven children two siblings and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. member of LDS Church and Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

A two story home owned by the Clem Humphreys family burned to the ground Tuesday afternoon after a trash fire west of the house. Firefighters arrived around 2:30 with water pressure too low and hose shortages hindering efforts. Lower room furniture was moved out but upper rooms were consumed by the blaze.
