Idaho Legislature Seeks Bear Lake Refuge Name Change
In a joint memorial the Idaho Legislature asks federal officials to rename the 17,000 acre Bear Lake County wildlife refuge to Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The memorial cites confusion from Bannock National Wildlife Refuge and requests action by the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission and Congress. It lists supporters from Bear Lake Calibra and Franklin counties and names state and federal officials to receive copies of the memorial.
