The city hosted a dance and banquet in the pavilion last Friday for loyal gravel haulers who participated in the winter gravel hauling event. A cafatera lunch was served in the First ward chapel prepared by town women. Mayors and presidents offered thanks and comments on the work's value.
Eugene Dalrymple 22 of Montpelier and Marion Dalrymple was crushed in a switch engine yard accident at Milford Utah. He died en route to Salt Lake City two hours after the incident. Dalrymple belonged to a telegraph crew en route from Salt Lake to Los Angeles and was to be buried in Montpelier after arrangements.
The Fielding High School play Hot Tentot was presented last Friday evening at the Rich Theatre in Montpelier. It marked the third county appearance with a large audience and an appreciative reception for the efforts of the cast and crew.
The Post delays this week as it replaces the old press with a larger one to meet increasing newspaper volume. The mechanical department undergoes several improvements and extra work is required this week. Readers and advertisers are asked to bear with the delay and support the upgrade.
In Conda Idaho a mine accident after the noon shift injures John Bird severely. A timber-loaded car shifted, boards struck workers, Bird sustaining a broken shoulder blade a crushed arm and the amputation of a finger. He received treatment at Soda Springs hospital.
Notice declares the Paris Pavilion Company annual stockholders meeting to be held at the Stake Office on Tuesday April 15. Directors urge attendance and outline meeting location and date.
A feature announces the plan to publish excerpts from the journal kept by Hugh Findlay, deceased, dating back to April 1862. Walter Findlay, son of the author, lends the book for this publication, highlighting its value to early pioneers.
St Charles March 31 Sunday March 80th Mr and Mrs Boon Bunderson entertained thirty two guests for the sixtieth birthday anniversary. A banquet, roses, a three layer cake and a rocker honored the guest with stories speeches and entertainment for the children. The family home hosted the event with a radio sacred concert later in the evening.
Boise April 2 plans are under way for one of the largest auto caravans in the northwest if not the nation to cover the north and south highway in Idaho. Sponsored by the Idaho State Historical Association the caravan will feature writers and camera crews to publicize the route nationwide. Co operating groups include Idaho State Automobile Association and Idaho Automotive Trades Association. Governor Moorsing Swan of Gooding plans to join. Pilot and repair cars accompany the caravan and autoists from south Idaho are expected to participate.
Lorenzo Young 84 a survivor of the original Mormon pioneers who came to Utah died in Shelley Idaho of pneumonia. Born Nauvoo Illinois he lived in Salt Lake Payson St George and Shelley and recalled Brigham Young declaring This is the place. He leaves ten children and many grandchildren.
Pocatello March 29 With much information lacking some Idaho beet growers in sections were not signed the 2 cent per ton clause of the 1924 sugar beet contract The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation will administer funds from the 2 cent clause and place them in a special Sugar Beet Grower Fund Each cent will be used to further beet growers interests with full accounting to contributors The fund will be paid only for vouchers approved by the State Sugar Beet Growers Committee and county farm bureaus will organize Sugar Beet Committees in communities and counties to govern distribution and oversight
The U S Forest Service offers prizes of 15 10 and 5 to grade schoolers who submit a name that represents the person who starts fires in forests. Entries go to W S Averill Forest Ranger or the District Forester Ogden Utah by April 21. The notice cites coined terms like Schofflaw and Spigot bigot as examples.
The First Ward M I A Dramatic Company presented What Every Woman Knows at the local opera house before a large crowd. The cast displayed training and ability with strong performances by John Shand Maggie and Lady Sybil, while music by the Shepherd Packard Six enhanced the show.
The Sugar Company seeks beet growers and contracts to plan seed and drills for the county. County Agent and local Sugar Beet leaders are urged to contact now as seed and equipment logistics take a month. Last year planning began around April 30. this year could start earlier to boost fall yields.
Mayor Jas L Dunford returned home last Friday from the state Republican convention at Lewiston where he served as a county delegate. He won a prize and was named an alternate delegate to the national convention and plans to attend the national gathering.

Republicans name Moore for governor Borah for senate Democrats nominate Ross for governor and Rice or Walters for senator Progressives back Samuels for governor a Twin Falls resident may seek senate seat hoping to dilute Borah The forecast suggests regional strategy shaping the race and calls it a fairly good guess.
The Fielding High School and Montpelier High School debate last Friday saw Montpelier's M. H. 8 win. In Montpelier Dorothy Adkins Mae Winn and Edward Sarbach spoke for the affirmative on Enter the world court of Justice as urged by Pres Harding. Fielding's negative team included McClellan Brewer and Vallentine. In Paris M. H. 8 debated against Fielding with Ruth Winters Isabel Black and Ruth Morgan on the negative side.
Mr and Mrs Walter Rogers rejoice over the arrival of a new baby born Monday night. The couple have been residents of Pocatello while at present they live with Mr and Mrs Nelson of Bloomington.
B Forrest Taylor and a supported company toured Paris and several county towns last week. Taylor, well known locally for quality plays, was joyfully welcomed back by audiences and residents.
