Lessons Learned from Popular Culture
SUNY Oswego sociology chair Tim Delaney and Tim Madigan of St John Fisher College co author a 274 page SUNY Press study that uses ten media genres to expose how popular culture shapes society. The book argues pop culture reflects public attitudes, informs life lessons and influences topics from social media to music while remaining accessible to non academics.

Seventh grade advisory program kicks off at OMS Oswego
At Oswego Middle School OMS seventh graders join a new advisory program replacing one study hall. Half of the grade participates this fall with the other half in the spring. Advisory teams include an administrator counselor and teacher assistant. Topics include planners Jupiter Grades locker use and “I Am” activities.
