Oswego YMCA hosts free soccer clinic for youths
Oswego YMCA announces a free 6 to 7 pm soccer clinic for ages 6 to 12 at 265 W. First St led by Stevy Faulkner, with no registration required. An introductory boxing clinic follows, equipment provided, pre registration required, members free and non member fee, YMCA family director Amy Murphy says the programs target family benefits.

Local fishing expert Mike McGrath and author Spider Rybank host a free kids fishing day at Lake Neatahwantha in Fulton. Classes run 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. on catching carp and live-bait use, with bait and tackle provided or bring your own. A 1-4 p.m. tournament awards prizes for longest, heaviest, and most fish, with only lake entries and live fish accepted.

Abold Wins Dramatic Budweiser Classic At Oswego Speedway
Jeff Abold of Baldwinsville earned the 60th Budweiser International Classic at Oswego Speedway after Dave Shullick Jr. ran out of fuel with five laps remaining. Abold surged from fourth on lap 199 to overtake Shullick and hold off Michael Barnes for the win, capturing $15,000 plus ring. Barnes finished second, Otto Sitterly third, Shullick fourth, and Davey Hamilton fifth among a 34-car field.
