NY advocate tours state to spotlight abuse in care
Michael Carey tours New York to press that state fails to protect disabled individuals in state care and that abuse investigations are often blocked by the Justice Center. He cites his 13 year old son’s 2007 death and plans meetings with law enforcement and lawmakers as the tour begins at the Capitol. The Justice Center says all abuse allegations are investigated and 169 people have faced charges.
