The tentative 2018 Oswego Town budget projects a tax levy rise driven by higher highway costs and a move from full time to part time staff as retirements occur. General fund revenue and expense rise to 906 139, with highway fund up to 1 191 208 and an 18 percent levy increase expected. Board members did not return calls by press time.
Oswego County hosts a charity night as the Crunch welcome Oswego County and honor Mary Gosek for breast cancer awareness. Funds raised from ticket sales donations and raffles will be presented during the first intermission with proceeds supporting Hope for Heather. Oswego State women’s hockey players join the event to educate attendees about ovarian cancer and promote team health education.

Funeral services for Annlyn Warner who died on Sept 27 were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St Marys Church. The Mass was celebrated by Rev John Hogan with Cathy Fox and Jamie Branato reading. Grandchildren presented the offertory as Heather, the daughter, participated.
Annlyn Warner Morgan received farewell tributes with words of remembrance. St Mary’s Funeral Choir performed music and Amazing Grace was sung by Cam Caruso. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery with Father Hogan conducting committal services. Pallbearers included Jason Zelley, Charlie Morgan, Chris Harrold, Ben Harrold, Alex Lafond and Sam Lafond. Daii Cullinan Funeral Home arranged details.
Thomas M. Carr 70 of Scriba died October 5 2017 morning after a long illness at Oswego. He was born in Lincoln New Hampshire son of the late Lawrence and Shirley Carr. He worked as an operating engineer for IUCE Local 545 Syracuse for 49 years and was past president of the local. He was an Oswego Elks member, enjoyed hunting deep sea fishing and hockey watching his son and grandchildren play. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Carr Viner, his children and siblings. Funeral services 7 p.m. Monday October 9 2017 at Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home Oswego. Burial private. Memorials to Friends of Oswego County Hospice.
Michael Dunn died October 2 2017. Calling hours set 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday October 7 at Elim Grace Church 340 West First Street Oswego with a memorial service immediately after. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral.
