Oswego Professor Alok Kumar Named Distinguished Teaching Professor
SUNY recognizes Oswego physics professor Alok Kumar as a Distinguished Teaching Professor, one of SUNY’s highest honors. He joins eight faculty systemwide in the 2023-24 appointments, noted for teaching and research excellence and advocacy for non Western perspectives in science. Kumar joined SUNY Oswego in 1992 and holds degrees from Kanpur University and Meerut University.

Fairley Elementary Students Join Hannibal STEM Club
About two dozen Fairley Elementary School students in grades two through four joined a First Lego League Jr. Creature Craze Challenge in the library media center. Third grader Kayden McIntyre and second grader Jacob Somers described interest in building with Legos and researching bee habitats as advisor Marie Smith plans a pilot through the 2016-2017 year to gauge ongoing robotics interest from second grade to high school.

Fulton on Film expands soft skills for FJHS students
The Fulton Community School Extended Day program at Fulton Junior High School offers 2:20 to 5:20 p.m. sessions on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Involvement in projects like Fulton on Film builds video production, teamwork and problem solving, with trips to G. Ray Bodley High School and SUNY Oswego.
