Fire destroys Oswego building in downtown blaze
Officials say a rag ing fire gutted a downtown Oswego structure at West Bridge and West Third streets harming no one but displacing 16 residents from six families. Crews battled the flames for hours as a partial collapse forced evacuations and Red Cross aid provided temporary housing, food, and clothing.

Oswego Middle School eighth grader Ava Cloonan earned a spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee by winning the Oswego regional event at Oswego High School in March.
