Oswego County Opportunities Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier announced Kristin LaBarge as the Amelia Whelahan Leadership Award recipient at the April 22 Springside at Seneca Hill gathering. LaBarge, planning coordinator since 2009, began with OCO in 1998 and led county homeless point-in-time counts and local Zonta efforts while advancing through roles and pursuing certification.
The Oswego YMCA promotes Older Americans Month urging adults 50 and older to adopt healthy eating, more activity and social interaction. Kerrie Ann Webb notes older adults are a growing community need, with the Y offering guidance for chronic disease prevention. Armory reopening hours are set for weekdays 3pm to 8pm and Saturdays 8am to 12pm, with summer-hour adjustments planned.
