Committee OKs increased sewer rates for businesses
Oswego leaders back a tiered sewer rate plan after June 1 aimed at heavy users such as hotels, large developments, apartments, SUNY Oswego and Oswego Hospital. Homeowners and small businesses would keep current rates, while major users would pay more to cover costs. The proposal seeks fairness and to curb future broad hikes.

Supreme Court signals support for $15 wage movement
The Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge to Seattle's $15 minimum wage law, signaling it will not block wage increases. Advocates say the ruling sustains a trend seen in cities and states nationwide as Living costs rise. Franchise owners argue the measure unfairly classifies them as large entities, seeking more time to phase in.
