Freda E Harmon of Manlius dies at 89
Freda E Harmon, longtime Lakeland and Fulton resident, died March 28 2015 at age 89. Born September 10 1925 in Laceyville PA, she was a 1946 graduate of Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at A L Lee Memorial Hospital and later as an industrial nurse for Armstrong World Industries retiring in 1986. Survived by husband Paul Harmon, five daughters, one son, sister Luna Maurer, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A service will be held April 1 at Foster Funeral Home Fulton with burial at Mt Adnah Cemetery. Donations to Oswego County Meals on Wheels preferred.

James E. Abel Jr. 89 of Oswego died March 19 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital. A Jamestown native and Army veteran he served in Europe 1944 to 1946 and was an Army Reservist 1964 to 1980 retiring as a full colonel. He worked 21 years at Utica Psychiatric Center retiring in 1980 and enjoyed golf bowling music and trombone. Survived by daughter Holly Abel and Dora Thurlow of Oswego and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife June Strand Abel and sisters Ruth Ann Waidler and Mary Evelyn O Connor. No calling hours memorial services to be held later. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home.
