Dreaded bacteria found in rubber bath ducks study reveals
A Swiss and American team tested five rubber bath ducks and found up to 75 million cells per square centimeter, including potentially pathogenic bacteria like Pseudomonas and Regionalella. They warn bath toys’ low quality polymers and fluids create a fertile environment for microbes, suggesting higher quality polymers could curb growth. Children may face eye ear and intestinal infections from exposed microbes.
